Check of serviceability of functioning of measuring instruments of a combination of devices

Considered in the present manual of the car are equipped with safety cushions (SRS). When performing any works near sensors of blows, a steering column or the dashboard disconnect SRS (see Safety cushions - the general information). Do not make check of the SRS models by means of any type of the diagnostic equipment.


This procedure belongs only to measuring instruments of analog type.

Measuring instruments of fuel consumption and temperature of the engine

All listed below checks are made at the included ignition (a key in the situation ON).

If the arrow of the measuring instrument constantly is in zero situation (an empty tank, or the cold engine), check a condition of a safety lock. If a safety lock as it should be, find the block of the corresponding sensor (see the Head of the Power supply system and release [the fuel consumption sensor], or the Head of the Cooling system and heating [temperature sensor]). For a moment close the sensor socket on weight. If there is a measuring instrument arrow throw, replace the sensor, otherwise by means of a wire crossing point ground the sensor plug on the back party of the measuring instrument (in case of need see schemes of electric connections at the end of the present Chapter). If when grounding the last plug of the shooter of the measuring instrument it is displaced in the maximum situation, the problem consists in malfunction of a condition of an electrical wiring on a chain site between the measuring instrument and the sensor. If the arrow remains in former (zero) situation, check the second plug of the measuring instrument on existence of tension on it. In the absence of tension replace the measuring instrument.
