Removal, repair and installation of supports of disk brake mechanisms

Remember that the dust developed in the course of operation of brake mechanisms may contain extremely unhealthy the person asbestos. Do not blow off dust compressed air at all and do not inhale it, – at service of mechanisms put on a protective mask or a respirator. Do not use for rubbing of components of brake system gasoline or solvents on an oil basis at all, – apply only firm cleaners or methyl alcohol!

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Weaken wheel nuts. A car front/back also establish to Poddomkratta it on props. Remove wheels.

2. At removal of a support of the disk brake mechanism of a back wheel take the forelock, and disconnect a cable of the drive of the parking brake from the executive lever (see an accompanying illustration).

3. Disconnect from a support the hydraulic line, for the purpose of minimization of losses of brake fluid, and also, in order to avoid hit in a path of dirt to a zakuporta nipple connection (see an accompanying illustration).

4. Remove a support (see Replacement of brake shoes of disk brake mechanisms).

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Options of a design of supports of disk brake mechanisms are given on accompanying illustrations above.
2. Lay a support on a pure workbench. If on a support spring holders of blocks are established, remember their arrangement on assembly, then remove. If the boot of the piston is recorded by means of a spring ring, remove it, having hooked a screw-driver.
3. Remove a boot.
4. Before taking the piston, lay between it and a wall of a support wooden whetstone (for protection of the piston). The piston is pushed out by supply of compressed air in the union of connection of a brake hose. Pressure of air has to be minimum.

Watch that fingers did not appear between the piston and a support!


5. Estimate a condition of working surfaces of the piston and cylinder in a support. In case of identification of cavities, zadir, roughnesses and zones with the changed coloring, replace assembly of a support.
6. At a working order of components take from a flute in the cylinder a piston cuff, having hooked it the wooden or plastic tool (use of the metal tool can lead to damage of a mirror of the cylinder).
7. Push out plugs of fixing bolts of a support from eyes in the case of the last. At the corresponding complete set, previously remove the rubber protective covers established from both parties.
8. Wash out all removed details a special cleaner. Prepare the repair set corresponding to a support design. Moisten a new cuff of the piston with pure brake fluid and fill it in the flute in the support cylinder. Make sure that the cuff is not overwound.
9. If the boot of the piston is established without spring lock ring (supports of Nissin firm), fill a boot in the top flute in the support cylinder. Track completeness of landing of a flange of a boot in a flute.

10. Grease the piston with pure brake fluid, accurately push it through a new boot and fill in the support cylinder (the piston has to enter the cylinder with a small resistance). Make sure that the boot got to a landing flute on the piston (see an accompanying illustration).

11. If for fixing of a boot the spring lock ring (supports of Akebono firm) is provided, establish it on the place. Make sure that the boot got to a landing flute on the piston.
12. Grease bolts of a support with the silicone greasing enclosed in a remnabor and fill them in case eyes. Do not forget to establish protective covers.

Support of the brake mechanism of a back wheel

For dismantling of supports of the brake mechanism of a back wheel special tools in view of what, performance of their repair will be reasonable to be charged to specialists of car service are required.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Installation is made upside-down. Do not forget to replace copper sealing washers (laying) from both parties of the nipple socket of connection to a support of a brake hose. Usually the set of new laying is applied in a remnabor.
2. Pump over a brake contour (see Check of serviceability of functioning/tightness, removal and installation of assembly of the vacuum amplifier of brakes). Check nipple connections of brake lines for existence of signs of leaks.
3. Establish to the place of a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten nuts of fastening of wheels with the demanded effort (see Specifications to the Head Tekuushchey service).
4. Before starting operation of the car check serviceability of functioning of brakes.
