Replacement of the heat exchanger of a heater

The cars considered in the present manual are equipped with system of additional safety of SRS better known as a safety cushion. Before performing any works near assembly of a pillow or a steering column, without fail disconnect system in order to avoid receiving injuries as a result of its casual operation (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).

The air conditioning system constantly is under a high pressure. Do not disconnect refrigerator lines at all and do not remove any components of system, previously without having executed a discharge of the last. The discharge of the air conditioning system has to be made by forces of the skilled expert in the conditions of a workshop of car service. At a rassoyedineniye of refrigerator lines surely put on goggles!

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If the car is equipped To/in, make a discharge of system in the conditions of a specialized workshop. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery. Disconnect a safety cushion (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Empty the cooling system (see the Head Routine maintenance).

3. Disconnect a driving cable of the valve of a heater (see an accompanying illustration).

4a. In a motive compartment disconnect hoses of a cooling path of the engine from inlet and final branch pipes of the heat exchanger of a heater on a back partition of a motive compartment (see an accompanying illustration).

4b. For collecting the spilled liquid get drain capacity under branch pipes. Give the nut of assembly of a heater located directly over inlet and final heat exchanger branch pipes on a back partition of a motive compartment (see an accompanying illustration).

Try not to bend and otherwise not to damage the nuts laid close fuel lines and brake tubes.

5. On the Integra models remove a basic frame of a passenger safety cushion (see an accompanying illustration).

6. Remove assembly of management of functioning of the heater/conditioner of air (see Removal and installation of assembly of the control panel functioning of a heater and the conditioner of air, adjustment of a driving cable).
7. Remove facing of an instrument guard, the console and an instrument guard (see the Head Kuzov).
8. On models without To/in remove the air duct sleeve located between blocks of a heater and its fan. On equipped In models remove also the evaporator block (see Removal and installation of the K/V evaporator with the broad valve).
9. Remove an arm of a steering column.

10. Remove an electrical wiring plait clamp from the heater block, give two fixing nuts (see an accompanying illustration) and take the block from the car.

11. Turn out two screws from a cover of the heat exchanger of a heater and remove a branch pipe collar. Take the heat exchanger from a casing.
12. Installation is made upside-down. Do not forget to check serviceability of functioning of the operating gates. In case of need make necessary recovery repair, having replaced the broken or deformed components.
13. Fill the cooling system and remove from it air traffic jams (see the Head Routine maintenance). Connect the battery and start the engine. Check components of system of heating for existence of signs of leaks and serviceability of functioning. At the corresponding complete set make charging of the air conditioning system in the conditions of a specialized workshop.
