Removal and installation of 4-staged and besstupenchaty automatic transmissions (AT and CVT)

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!


2. Remove the resonator, a sleeve of an air inlet and a casing of the air cleaner (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).
3. Remove from a starter an electrical wiring and an arm of its fastening (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine).
4. Disconnect the tire of its grounding from transmission.
5. Disunite the socket of the electromagnetic valve of management of blocking (see Check and replacement of electromagnetic valves of management of blocking).
6. Disconnect an electrical wiring from VSS (see Part a 5-staged manual box of gear shifting of the present Chapter)

7. Turn out three top bolts of fastening of transmission to the engine (see an accompanying illustration), and also a bolt of a back support of the power unit.

8. The car also establish to Poddomkratta it on props.
9. Merge from transmission of ATF. at installation to the place of a drain stopper do not forget to replace on it a sealing washer.
10. Disconnect the lower levers of a suspension bracket from rotary fists (see the Head Podvesk and a steering).
11. Release power shafts from assembly of the main transfer (see the Head Stsepleniye and power shafts). Wrap assemblies of internal CV JOINTS in plastic bags for protection them from pollution.
12. Remove a fork of the right damper (see the Head Podvesk and a steering).
13. Remove power shafts (see the Head Stsepleniye and power shafts).
14. Remove protection of a case.
15. Remove the cranked section of system of release passing under the power unit (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).
16. Uncover docking knot of a driving cable of gear shifting, then remove a control lever and a driving cable (there is no need to disconnect a cable from the lever).
17. Remove a lock support (see Part a 5-staged manual box of gear shifting of the present Chapter).
18. Disconnect a TV cable from a control lever the provision of a butterfly valve (see Check and adjustment of a cable of management of a butterfly valve in the kick-down mode (TV cable) - the Integra models).
19. Disconnect hoses of a cooling path of ATF from metal lines. In order to avoid an effluence of liquid develop hoses the open ends up and at once to their zakuporta.

20. Remove an edge(s) of rigidity of the power unit (see an accompanying illustration).

21. Uncover access to the rotation converter to an AT/flywheel (CVT).

22. Mark position of the converter of rotation of an AT/flywheel (CVT) of rather driving disk (see an accompanying illustration) – at assembly components have to be established strictly in former provisions.

23. Serially turn out bolts of fastening of the converter of a rotation/flywheel to a driving disk. For ensuring access to the next bolt turn a cranked shaft for a pulley.
24. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the distributor of ignition and connect a lifting rigging to the engine.
25. Prop up transmission by a jack (whenever possible special), having fixed it on a head of the last a safety chain. Raise transmission, having unloaded its support.

26. Remove a lateral support (see an accompanying illustration).

27. Turn out the lower bolt of fastening of transmission to the engine, and also bolts of a back support of the power unit (see an accompanying illustration).

28. Take away a jack back, removing transmission from the directing pins. Track that the converter of rotation was disconnected from a driving disk. Fix the converter in transmission not to allow its loss in the course of assembly dismantle. Omit transmission and take it from under the car.

Perhaps, it will be required to lower slightly a jack / to etch the winch, the propping-up engine in the course of lowering of transmission for the purpose of release of bigger working space.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Manufacturers of cars (Honda company) recommend to make washing of a cooler of ATF and lines of a cooling path with solvent. Track that upon completion of washing solvent did not remain in cooler lines/cavities. It will be reasonable to wash out in summary for a guarantee a cooler of pure ATF.
2. Establish into place a starter (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine).
3. Before installation track reliability of gearing of a nave of the converter of rotation in the pump. Having fixed transmission on a jack, bring it to regular situation (try not to incline assembly in order to avoid loss of the converter from it).
4. Achieve the correct combination of the tags of position of the converter of rather driving disk put in the course of dismantle.
5. Make sure of presence at the nests of the directing pins, then accurately put on them transmission, watching correctness of input of the converter in gearing.
6. Screw the lower bolt of fastening of transmission to the engine and the lower bolt of fastening of the engine to transmission. Tighten bolts with the demanded effort.

Do not use bolts for pulling up of transmission to the engine. If it is not possible to press assembly, try to establish the reason and to eliminate a hindrance.


7. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to a dismantle order.
8. Fill in in transmission necessary quantity of ATF of the demanded grade (see the Head Routine maintenance). Be not frightened if it is required to fill in liquids slightly more, than it is stipulated by norms, – surplus will leave on filling of the converter of rotation which is not devastated in the course of usual change of ATF.
9. Start the engine, cock the parking brake and carry out the selector lever through all provisions three times. Make sure of serviceability of functioning of a driving cable of gear shifting (see Replacement and adjustment of a cable of gear shifting).
10. Check installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition, in case of need make the corresponding adjustment (see the Head Routine maintenance).
11. Warm up the engine up to the normal working temperature (transmission in the situation "N" or "P"), then muffle it and check the ATF level.
12. Carry out trial runs of the car, then check the power unit for existence of signs of leak of liquids.
